Some of the guys from MST 3000, including former head writer Mike Nelson, will finally be seen from coast to coast riffing Plan 9 from Outer Space, widely considered to be the worst movie ever made. I've got tickets for me and a friend to see this thing Thursday night.
This is where it gets a little strange. If you go to the website and follow instructions to buy tickets online, it says nothing available in your area. But instead if you click on "list of participating theaters" you can find the individual web sites for the theaters where it's being shown, and even order tickets online in some cases.
Recently the guys did a live riffing on the Plan 9 movie, and the performance was recorded. That recording is what me and other MSTies are going to theaters Thursday night to watch. Plan 9 from Outer Space had a working title of "Devil Worshippers from Outer Space," but it was the 1960s and we simply didn't talk that way. I have never seen the film but surely it can't be worse than "Manos: The Hands of Fate." I can't wait to experience this!

It's bad. Deliciously bad. I took a friend to the riffing, and it was hilarious. I have to say here, the working title was not as I said earlier, Devil Worshippers..., but rather Grave Robbers from Outer Space. Very entertaining for MST3k types.
